Full Time Customer Service Representative
We are currently hiring for the position of a Full Time Veterinary Customer Service Representative (CSR). The Veterinary CSR here requires advanced computer knowledge and the ability to learn practice software (Cornerstone) quickly. The CSR is the first person our clients see and they must possess a warm and outgoing personality. Excellent customer service skills and multitasking abilities are essential. The CSR should have excellent communication skills and follow through, be open to constructive criticism and extremely detail oriented. It is necessary that candidates for this position have the ability to follow direction with and without supervision. Candidates are expected to dress and act professionally and complete all tasks as designated by staff. All CSR at Suffolk Animal Hospital are cross-trained as Veterinary Assistants and are expected to fill the role of an Assistant on an as needed basis. Therefore, you should be comfortable handling both cats, dogs, and birds and be able to lift 40 pounds or more. You must thrive in a collaborative environment and be a quick thinker with a passion for animal health care.
While some animal care experience is preferred, a minimum of one year of customer service experience is required. The hours for this position vary but are primarily Monday through Friday 7:45am to 6pm but will include every other Saturday 7:45am to 1pm. Part Time Veterinary Assistant/Animal Care Assistant
We are looking to hire a Part Time Veterinary Assistant/Animal Care Assistant to our growing AAHA-Accredited Veterinary Hospital. This is a beginning position at our clinic with plenty of potential for future growth. We do not require professional animal experience but personal animal experience and/or customer service experience is preferred. Our ideal candidate desires a long term position in the animal health field and is looking to grow as both an employee and individual. The candidate’s primary responsibilities are proper husbandry of all hospitalized, grooming and boarding animals, including feeding, bathing, record keeping and maintaining the facility. In additional to tending to our boarding animals on the weekend, the Animal Care Assistant is responsible for many housekeeping duties such as steam mopping and deep cleaning areas that are not accessible during the week. After being trained as a Animal Care Assistant, the candidate will learn to triage patients, gather patient history, fill prescriptions and obtain patient samples to fulfill the role of a Veterinary Assistant. The Assistant must have the ability to lift and restrain up to 40 pounds and must be comfortable handling both cats, dogs, birds and small animals. A minimum of 2 weekends a month are a requirement including both Saturday (7:45am-1pm and 4pm-6pm) and Sundays (8am-10am and 4-6pm) and you must have reliable transportation. Part Time Pet Groomer
We are looking to add an experienced dog and cat groomer with 2+ years experience. An ideal candidate is energetic and passionate about improving pet lives through pampering. This candidate should be well experienced with grooming both dogs and cats with both calm and anxious demeanor’s. They should have their own tools of the trade but we will provide location, tub, kennels, dryers, shampoos and clientele. This candidate should be interested in becoming a team member and working towards helping build a larger grooming client base at Suffolk Animal Hospital; this may include attending events, visiting appointments and accepting walk in clients.
