At Suffolk Animal Hospital, it is our mission to keep people and their pets healthy. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread globally, we are taking appropriate precautions to address the outbreak by following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Our current approach and response to COVID-19 are outlined below:
We take great pride in the cleanliness of our clinic. Currently, we are even more vigilant in making sure the lobby and our exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned after each pet comes through our doors. As a small clinic, we have the luxury of alternating between exam rooms to allow thorough cleaning and soaking “contact time” for everything to be clean for the next pet.
Suffolk Animal Hospital is currently curbside only.
If you need to pick up medications, call us when you arrive, and we will gladly bring them out to you, and you can pay from the vehicle. The same option exists for all of our regular appointments. You can relax in your car while we take your pet inside and care for all of their needs with exams, tests, etc. Prefer to drop your pet off? Not a problem! We will gladly call when everything is done so that you can return. Of course, we will meet you back outside.
As always, Suffolk Animal Hospital is pleased to offer House Call appointments for you and your pet if you are unable or prefer not to venture out. Please call ahead to allow us plenty of time to schedule this.
Given this is a rapidly changing environment, we will continue to monitor developments and update our course of action as new information becomes available. We know it is a stressful time for everyone, but please believe that your pets are safe and that you are safe around your pets. If you have any more questions, we’re here to help!
The Staff and Doctors of Suffolk Animal Hospital
Why Suffolk Animal Hospital?
Dr. Amber Carr is a licensed veterinarian treating both cats and dogs in Suffolk and the surrounding areas. In addition to being licensed by the state of Virginia, Suffolk Animal Hospital is an AAHA-Accredited Veterinary Hospital and the Local’s Choice for Best Veterinarian and Animal Hospital in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. Our AAHA-Accreditation means that our clinic and staff are inspected every three years on over 900 rigorous standards set forth by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) to ensure only the highest quality of care is practiced.
Suffolk Animal Hospital started as a small animal clinic 35+ years ago. It was one of the original Suffolk small animal clinics, proudly serving the city of Suffolk and the surrounding communities. In 1985, the building itself changed with a major renovation and additional upgrades. Over the last three decades, we have slowly grown and expanded even further!
As we look forward to the future, we embrace the clientele that has supported us through the years. Because of you, we continue to strive to improve ourselves and offer the best level of care that we can. Our team always welcomes your suggestions and referrals. We look forward to continuing our growth and expansion together.
