We love it when our patients board with us!
Suffolk Animal Hospital offers a better experience for you and your pet. You can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in the best hands while you are away. We are Local’s Choice for boarding and daycare in 2021 AND 2022.
Suffolk Animal Hospital provides quality boarding for both cats and dogs, so ease your concerns about leaving your pet behind while you’re away. Let our qualified staff take care of him or her. We will provide your pet with a safe, comfortable, “home away from home” atmosphere. We are happy to accommodate any special care or needs your pet might have, including administering medications and dealing with “difficult” pets. Just let us know when you make the reservation.
We provide amenities such as clean blankets and beds, metal food and water bowls, litter and litter boxes (but feel free to bring your own if you’d prefer). Toys and other personal items are welcome and encouraged. We utilize Feliway Feline Pheromones with our boarding cats and Adaptil Canine Pheromones to help them easily transition to their temporary home. We will administer any needed medication and follow your specified feeding regimen. We feed a high-quality Purina EN Gastrointestinal Diet and treats for no extra charge, although eating their own food tends to agree better with most boarded pets. We can also provide bathing, teeth brushing, and grooming services before you pick up your pet.
Our veterinary assistants and Dr. Carr regularly check on the pets. We have specially assigned animal care assistants monitoring our boarding area the majority of the time. Even though our clinic may not be open on Saturday afternoons and Sundays, rest assured your pets are tended to multiple times each day by our animal care assistants. You have the added benefit of knowing that Dr. Carr is on call and will promptly begin treatment if your pet gets sick during his or her stay.
To keep all our patients as healthy as possible, we require pets that are boarding with us to be up to date on vaccinations. Dogs are required to be current on their Rabies Vaccine, Distemper/Parvo Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine, and Intestinal Parasite Examination. Cats are required to be current on Rabies Vaccine, Feline Distemper Vaccine, and Intestinal Parasite Examination. We also require that most vaccinations be given at least two weeks before boarding.
